Grant Newport  

Grant Newport – Managing Director

Grant joined SQL Services at its inception, training as a SQL Server DBA before moving into the role of Operations Manager in 2001 and has been General Manager since 2003. Prior to joining SQL Services, Grant worked in the Telecommunications and IT industry in New Zealand and spent three years with Computer Sciences Corporation in Australia.

Grant’s focus is high quality service delivery, client satisfaction and building a strong, focused team to provide the services to the diverse customer base SQL Services now support. Grant sits on the SQL Services board.

Tim Brown  

Tim Brown - General Manager Services

Tim has 8 plus years’ experience within SQL Services in roles that span Sales, Design and Delivery of Database Solutions. Prior to joining SQL Services Tim spent 4 years consulting in the United Kingdom working on a variety of large Networking and Database Projects.

Tim’s experience has focused mainly on the New Zealand corporate market where he has developed great relationships with executive leaders, clients and our business partners.

During his career Tim has had a great deal of exposure to customers and partners all over New Zealand, this exposure has allows him to adapt our service offerings to meet the requirements of the different markets our clients are involved in.

As the National Services Manager at SQL Services' Tim brings a passion for success and works closely with his team to take the complexity out of Database Environments and endeavours to provide our clients solutions that solve their real business challenges.

Tim is a graduate of Otago University, likes Rugby, Fishing, Golf, Skiing and the odd Speight’s.

Adam Womersley  

Adam Womersley – DBA Services Manager

Adam Womersley has been involved with SQL Services’ growth since 2004. In that time he has brought his SQL Server skills and ever evolving expertise to the DBA, Team Lead, Consultant and now DBA Services Manager roles. Adam’s primary driver is to ensure that the provision of SQL Server DBA services are unparalleled and that the DBA team continue to enhance both their knowledge and talent.

Prior to joining SQL Services, Adam consolidated his UK consultancy experience by focusing his attention on Microsoft SQL Server, whilst working at the University of Auckland – a key highlight of which was being presented with the 2004 annual General Staff Excellence award.

Before emigrating to New Zealand and gaining citizenship, Adam specialised in providing development consultancy and training for the UK & Irish call centre industry. During this time he was instrumental in bringing paper centric call centre’s out of the dark ages and into the database era, as well as developing a range of contact centre solutions for one of the UK’s leading mobile phone service providers.

Mike Spencer  

Mike Spencer – Operations Manager

Mike has been working in the New Zealand IT industry for over 18 years and after a long stint in Wellington made the move down south to join the team at SQL Services. Mike works closely with our team of consultants to ensure all projects exceed client expectation and are completed in a timely manner. Mike is responsible for the management of key accounts including managing key projects and ensuring seamless service delivery. Throughout his time in IT, Mike has worked with some exceptional leaders and IT people from whom he has gained valuable insights and skills which have formed the basis of key concepts – trust, quality & reliability.

Mike Spencer  

Rob Douglas – Client Services Manager

Rob has been with SQL Services since 2008, first as a Database Administrator, then as a consultant before moving into his current role as Client Services Manager. Prior to joining SQL Services Rob held various roles including web application design, provisioning internet services and work in telecommunications. He is responsible for overseeing the SQL Services Professional Services team, ensuring projects are completed to a high standard. He also provides oversight and direction for the development of both existing and new toolsets and service offerings. Rob continues to provide consulting services and manage key customer accounts and is also strongly engaged in the larger SQL Server community, running the local PASS(Professional Association of SQL Server) chapter and having spoken at PASS SQL Saturdays in New Zealand and Australia.
